Now, about the job:  What you will do at Rampart as a Hydronic Sales & Design Associate?

  • Developing sales leads or requests

    • Answering incoming sales inquiries and engaging in technical discussions with potential customers

    • Creating timely written quotes. Following up on existing quotes and project leads

  • Developing customer solution/preparing bid packages by:

    • Analyzing customer needs, assessing product availability, researching special orders, and creating price quotes/bid documents

    • Advising customers on project, equipment, or application requirements 

    • Identifying value added solutions and closing additional purchase of products

    • Interpreting the project schedule to identify required equipment delivery dates and expedite selection, pricing, submittals, approval and procurement.

    • Assuring that potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with senior management.

  • Planning, coordinating and maintaining project schedule by:

    • Timely placing of customer order in the internal order entry system

    • Enlisting key material/equipment vendors to provide technical and costing support

    • Purchasing, securing, and expediting delivery of equipment and materials in a timely manner

    • Read and design pump curves

    • Researching and resolving service/product/technical issues

    • Communicating and coordinating with others (co-workers, distribution team, etc.)

    • Timely review and analysis of various operational reports such as:  Open Order Reports, Open PO Reports, and Open WT Reports

    • Delegating and following up appropriately to staff resources

    • Ensuring all documents are prepared, processed, and maintained correctly and in accordance with project timeline

  • Fulfill contract requirements/leads a strong project closeout by:

    • Ensuring O&M manuals and submittals are accurate and completed by their deadline

    • Ensuring warranty requirements and responsibilities are understood with the customer

    • Identifying and resolving customer feedback or concerns in a professional and timely manner

  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by:

    • Attending educational workshops and meetings; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks- during and after work hours

    • Keeping current on changes and trends in methods of construction, equipment, materials, and construction costs

    • Working with manager to determine developmental needs that relate to Rampart and its goals and objectives

  • Knowledge of product by size, type, style, color, or product code (boilers, pumps, piping, expansion tanks, etc)

  • Organization and prioritization when it comes to bid schedules, vendor lead times, customer specifications, etc

  • Accuracy and consistency

  • Effective communication in a professional manner with strong listening, written and verbal skills

  • Teamwork- establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others

  • Driving brand loyalty through customer relationship development

Youll need to have:

  • 2+ Years of heating sales experience

  • Comprehensive product & industry knowledge

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Proficiency in math

  • Experience with heat loss calculations

  • At least 6 months of order entry experience preferred
