R&D Engineering Technician I


Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT) has an opening for an Engineering Technician to support research & development (R&D) of innovative thermal and fluid management systems. ACT is a developer and manufacturer of a broad spectrum of thermal management solutions, ranging from passive heat pipe assemblies to actively pumped two-phase systems.  We routinely develop custom thermal solutions for customers in the aerospace, military, and industrial equipment markets.  This development extends from early prototype design to manufacturing of the final product.



R&D Engineering Technician at ACT supports this process by supporting various tasks that need to develop technological solutions from inception to laboratory demonstration.  Engineering Technician typically provides design support, undertakes tasks involving machining, system assembly and testing of prototype hardware. This position will work closely with multiple engineers and report to a Lead Engineer.



Requirements




  • Certificate from a technical school or a minimum of 3 years of related experience

  • Ability to operate hand tools (drills, drivers, etc.) and basic shop tools (press, mill, lathe, etc.)

  • Maintain an effective working pace to help the team complete projects on-time

  • Ability to stay flexible and easily redirect efforts in a fast-paced R&D environment

  • Hands-on fabrication and troubleshooting of assembly processes and test stands

  • Ability to contribute to problem-solving for product and prototype manufacturing

  • Detailed note-taking of assembly steps and testing records



Preferences




  • SolidWorks or other CAD experience

  • Basic electricity and vacuum systems experience

  • Metalworking such as machining, soldering, brazing, and welding
